Tim has been at Jodrell since 1995 and supporting Pulsars initially as a technician and more recently as an electronics engineer.

The major project in hand in 1995 was the pulsar analogue filterbank backend for the 13-beam L-band multibeam receiver on Parkes telescope.

Since then Tim has put COBRA together, with particular emphasis on the acquisition hardware which feeds into the COBRA beowolf cluster.

Presently Tim is supporting the SKADS development at Jodrell in building the 2-PAD demonstrator. Alongside this there are a number of exciting projects coming on-line for Pulsars.

  • The ATNF PDFB system is to be supplied to Jodrell and Efflesberg before summer.
  • The Serendip V board is now connected to the Lovell and we have first light observations which are promising.
  • The Parkes telescope is just about to take delivery of the Berkeley iBOB boards for multibeam digital filterbank use.
