Presto

Presto Home Page

Presto is a pulsar search tool developed by Scott Ransom. This is a package of several different tools (none of which are actually called presto, the name of the collective).

Although there are many features of presto, most features require the data to be passed through the prepdata tool, which will barycentre and dedisperse the data, before converting it into the presto data format.

Presto is known to read the following data formats:

  • Raw PMPS data (SCAMP)
  • GMRT phased array format
  • Berkeley-Caltech pulasr machine (BPP) format
  • Caltech-NRAO Spigot format
  • Sigproc filterbank format
  • Arecebo WAPP format
