Train and Bus
The Australian Rail Maps “Journey Planner” can be used to search for options and CountryLink Online Booking can be used to book your trip. Note: when traveling from Melbourne to Parkes, you will need the bus from Cootamundra to Dubbo, which runs only on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday (see Melbourne to Dubbo); from Parkes to Melbourne, the bus runs Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday (see Dubbo to Melbourne).
Plane
Regional Express flies from Sydney to Parkes, and Virgin Blue is currently the only domestic airline that will check your bags through to Parkes. Flight Centre can be used to search for other domestic flights from the major Australian airlines.
